Happy Saturday! Today, I’m escaping to the local park, as at the minute – I just need some time alone (and with my photographer sister). One of my favourite things about living in Yorkshire, is the easy access to escape to nature. I think that’s actually the one thing that draws me to New York City. I’m in no way a city girl, but the idea of sitting in Central Park sounds unquestionably wonderful. I often feel like local parks are neglected and ignored. Some in my area basically deserted patches of land which sucks, because they could be put to good use and even bring the community together.
For today’s look, I’m sticking with comfortable and casual (what’s new?), but also something I feel stylish in. There’s always those pieces in your wardrobe, that make you feel like you really tried, but in actual fact you didn’t try at all. That’s how I feel about this dress, and fortunately my mum made it for me. It’s gotta be one of the greatest advantages of being the daughter of a fashion designer – so I just pick out the fabric and run with it. I loved the print on this dress, because it features my favourite colours, but the colours are also velvet, which contrasts to the dress’ cotton-jersey. It’s so ridiculously comfy to wear, and I found a whole bunch of dresses just like me! Shop away!
Sadly, summer’s almost over (but yay for autumn), so I’m getting as much use out of my denim jacket as possible. They’ll be a couple of warm days in September, but I’m always cold so it’s highly unlikely you’ll see me in less than three layers next week. I bought this denim gem from F&F at Tesco, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most durable summer jackets I’ve ever owned. The denim is such high quality, it’s still looking brand new after four years! Stores like F&F are often overlooked, and they happen to be places where I’ve found some of my favourite clothing!
Saturday’s are for relaxing (unless you’re working – I feel for you), and for taking the time to feel grateful and appreciative. I would usually be spending some time with my best friends, but they’re all off touring America so I’m trying not to be bitter and jealous 😉 Also, my skin is misbehaving at the moment, but positive vibes only!
The park is my go-to for workouts, so I’m trying to make it my go-to for walks and maybe even OOTD shoots. It’s such a beautifully green place, and always so quiet – ideal for an introvert like moi.
Enjoy the weekend!
