On 02 November 2017, I jumped on a train from Leeds to London, to attend the Next Press Day. Out of all the press days in the fashion industry, the Next Press Day is the one event I’m always extremely excited to attend. You’ll know by looking through old posts on this blog that I always find the most amazing trends through Next and it’s one of my all-time favourite stores. My mum dressed me in Next clothing as a child, and now I wear their clothes all the time.
I love discovering new styles, fabrics and trends at Next’s Press Day and this event was no different. Held at the Somerset House, I used the subway alone for the first time (yay for me as a Yorkshire gal who drives literally everywhere)! Upon arrival, the immediate vibe I got was SPRING. Everything from the colour of the clothing to the decor and lighting screamed fresh.
I’ve also been loving the colour yellow since summer 2017. It’s not a colour I would usually go for, but the minute I saw the yellow biker jacket I just knew it was made for me. I’m loving the colours paired together in Next’s new line. It’s all unique and simply a breath of fresh air.
There are so many items I absolutely loved and really need in my closet next year. I’m always trying to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe, so expect to find me digging through Next rails next season. The entire range was full of colour, perfect for experimenting with fashion. If you’re thinking of spring cleaning your closet in 2018, make sure to leave room for some of these beautiful pieces…
Anything pink is a yes for me, so as soon as I saw pink and pastel accessories I was in heaven. I also got a real classic chic vibe from the shoes and bag this year. I’m so used to a modern twist on clothing, it was refreshing to see classically old fashions come back into style.
Now onto the most exciting part. I’m totally a fashion fanatic, but interiors will forever and always have a special place in my heart. I have a Pinterest board dedicated to each room of my dream house because one board just wants enough.
80% of the furniture in my current home is from Next (my mum’s just as obsessed as I am) and I know from personal experience that it’s one of the best homeware stores in the UK. So, you can imagine the weird humming noise I made out of excitement when I peeped some of the pieces to come in 2018. Check it out!
The home items are so perfect for spring. As a countryside girl, I loved all the farmhouse-inspired pieces and the use of earthy and neutral colours. They add a homey and loving feel to any room. I can’t wait to decorate my room next year!
Plus, I learned some exciting news while there.
First of all, from 28th January 2018 the entire Lipsy range (including the brands they stock) will be available exclusively on Next.co.uk! I discovered Lipsy through Next’s website, so it’s wonderful to know I can now shop the entire range in one place.
Secondly, the press day introduced Label/Mix, an exclusive new label created in collaboration with establishing and emerging designer brands each season. Keep your eyes on Next.co.uk this November!
