One of my favourite this about the area I live in is being just a few minutes’ walk from the peaceful countryside. It’s the one thing that keeps me in Yorkshire. As much as I adore bigger cities like Manchester and London, being able to just escape in a couple of minutes to a peaceful spot is unbeatable. I’m a ball of panic when it comes to being in the middle of chaos, so most the time I don’t venture out of my little village if I can help it. Walking to the farm to get eggs and bread, going for walks with the neighbours (and more importantly, their dogs) and discovering new and wonderful parts of the surrounding woods and moors just makes me so happy.
There are areas around me that are way more country-esque than where I live, but I love the little spot my home sits in and that’s what’s most important.
Now that we’re fully into winter, beanie hats are essentially attached to my head. Almost every time I leave the house, I’m wearing a beanie of some kind – especially when I’m out on a winter walk! I bought this beanie from Matalan about three years ago and it’s still as good as new. The simple cotton and elastic piece is so easy to add to an outfit, or fix a bad hair day.
MY FAVOURITE BEANIES
I’ve recently blogged about my love of bomber jackets, and those statements still stand. Today’s jacket is from TK Maxx, and the brand is Steve Madden. It’s in fact the first bomber I have ever owned. What I love most, is that the jacket is lined with a faux fur fabric that has similar qualities to fleece: it’s soft, cosy and keeps you warm.
Because the lining is hidden, it’s really easy to just throw this jacket over any jumper to finish an outfit. The jumper I’m wearing today is a cropped piece from Zaful, which is slowly becoming on my favourite online stores. Reviews about the brand have been mixed, and I think it will continue to have hits and misses, but so far, I’m loving it! The jumper is just a simple cotton material, and left un-hemmed which is one of my favourite details. Another cute addition is the rose embroidery on the top left shoulder, which is actually sewn really well – it doesn’t inch against the skin (bonus).
Leggings are a go to when it comes to keeping it casual. Mainly because I know I can get home, take off my jacket and just chill. I could never chill in jeans. I don’t understand people who chill at home in jeans. Like what are you doing? Get some sweats on! I bought these leggings from ASOS in one of their multipack offers and have become low key obsessed. Multipacks for the win!
Finally, the finish this outfit of the day, I’m wearing Converse (as usual) because they’re easily my favourite shoes. The only down side to classic Chucks is that they do have shoelace holes near the soles (on the sides) for detail, so if it’s wet out there’s a 99% chance my feet are also getting wet. And cold.
