Life as a blogger is busy. That’s an understatement. Its non-stop and never-ending, a fun kind of chaos. Despite loving organisation and planning, keeping track of time is one of my biggest struggles. Sometimes I blink and an hour passes. How? I don’t know it’s just ‘science’.
Planning is fundamental in my life, and it’s the easiest way for me to create time as a blogger. I live by routines and schedules, they make my brain a happy and peaceful place. The struggle is trying to pull spare time out of thin air without the tools to help me. My planner and watch are necessities.
I need a timepiece that can keep up with my schedule, match my wardrobe and still have that beautifully classic elegance that watches always bring. I’ve always worn watching, glancing at my wrist throughout the day is instinctual. I’m so over buying super cheap watches online that break after a year. I’m also over owning multiple watches because there isn’t just one that matches my outfit.
I also have the same attitude toward my planners this year. I’m done with buying super cheap planners that fall apart before we reach April. No thanks, I need something to keep up with me and my blogging schedule. My planner is pretty much like my best friend, it knows all my secrets, where I am at all times and everything that goes on in my mind. It’s where blog post drafts start, and where my doodles come to life. Plus, my planner stops my entire life from falling apart.
There are countless items that I need to stay on top of my game, and owning a watch is a huge part of it. I often find that there are people who cannot function without a watch, and people who don’t care for them that much. I’m in the category of those that cannot (I repeat, cannot) operate if there isn’t something ticking on my wrist.
When Henry London got in touch to collaborate, I was more than excited. The thing I love most about the brand is actually their story. Looking at a range of products is cool, but if I don’t feel connected to a brand it’s unlikely they’ll see me again. Here’s Henry London’s story:
Two designers exploring London’s many vintage districts searching for such inspiration stumbled upon a 1960s vintage timepiece at the famous Portobello Road Market. The beautifully styled, classic Swiss watch had the words ‘Henry, August 1965’ engraved on the case back. Although suffering the ravages of time, the watch still typified the craftsmanship and quality of a bygone age.
Inspired by a vintage timepiece, the designers of Henry London have utilised cutting-edge technology to create a watch collection with a level of precision and reliability which far exceeds that of their mid-century predecessor, yet does not compromise on style and design.
The collection perfectly combines traditional styling with modern trends.
Henry London, created from this one moment of inspiration, expresses the very essence of London. The juxtaposition of old and new, of the bold and the idiosyncratic.
Awesome right? So much inspo!
Because I need a watch to depend on and stick with me every day, having one from Henry London, inspired by the timeless pieces from the 60s makes me feel extra stylish while I’m on the go. The watch I’m rocking in today’s post is the Richmond HL41-CM-0040 and I didn’t even have to double check it was the one for me. The moment I saw this gem online, and on Henry London’s Instagram – I was obsessed.
Can we just take a moment to talk about the colour and design? The watch case is rose gold (is there anything better?) and is traditional but extra fashionable. The first thing that drew me to the Richmond watch is the mesh bracelet. Not just the glamorousness, but the intricate detail in the mesh. At first, I was worried the mesh would catch on those tiny arm hairs we all have and constantly pluck at my wrist, but it’s quite the opposite. The mesh is soft, flexible but durable.
Once thing I noticed straight away, is that you can certainly feel the essence of London when wearing the watch, and you can see the history in the design. I feel so glam when I’m wearing the watch, sometimes I just catch myself watching the time float by.
I’m always busy, so it’s nice to feel luxurious and inspired, while rushing around. My watch matches perfectly with all the stationary I need to keep on top of my workload, and the feeling of being put together is so incredibly satisfying.
The great thing about 2018, is that I have a planner and a watch (two of my biggest essentials) by my side and ready to go. They help me to remain organised and most importantly, create time by staying on top of it. I can’t tell you the amount of times I have allowed a meeting to run late, or stayed up editing without even realising how it affects my schedule. Then I miss out on the fun things I love, or should have made time for!
I’m pretty much always on the go, now I have the accessories to keep up with me!
