Most of the time, when I see a sponsored advertisement on Instagram, I just tend to scroll past because they usually don’t interest me. Of course, if there’s a blogger sharing an AD I’m straight in there with my likes and comments because I admire them for chasing those coins.
However, when Instagram forces random images into my timeline, I tend to ignore them as much as possible, until I came across this Instagram ad for Tricky Ink, an online clothing store. I saw this classing white tee with the phrase “bee nice” and a cute illustration of a lil’ bee. I was sold. Before I even knew the price of this tee, I just knew I really wanted it in my wardrobe and was so excited to find out it was on sale for only £5 – bonus.
When it comes to online stores, especially stores that started on Instagram, I can be a bit sceptical regarding the quality of the clothing. Is it going to disintegrate in the washing machine? Will it be a completely different colour in person? Is the sizing accurate? All valid questions, but I really wanted the shirt so I trusted Tricky Ink and shopped online.
Sadly, the tee took a while to get to me because of the terrible weather, but since I’ve had it, I haven’t stopped wearing it when blue jeans come into the mix. The thing about this t-shirt is that I can’t quite figure out where it goes. I love it as a casual everyday piece, like in today’s outfit. But I also really like to wear it around the house, because the cotton is so soft and it’s so comfy to wear. But I also really love it as a pyjama shirt as it’s so cute and perfectly matches with every pair of shorts I own. I’m actually tempted to order another so I can crop it…
The cute graphic on the tee wasn’t the only thing that drew me to it, I mentioned in this post that I’m into anything with a slogan at the moment, and I love the positive pun printed on this shirt. It’s like a gentle reminder, and so far, has made pretty much everyone smile. I feel like people are more likely to be nice to me if my shirt is telling them to. So far it’s working.
Whenever I wear a white top, I automatically think: blue jeans. And that’s what I went for with this look. The pair I’m wearing are from Dorothy Perkins, a brand that needs way more appreciation for their denim line. Not only are their jeans and shorts affordable, but the quality is just as great as the more popular brands. Big up DP!
The pumps I’m wearing were bought during yet another Pinterest-inspired midnight shopping spree, and I’m so happy they made the final cut. Not only are they soft and spacious to wear, but the colour is everything. Pink is always a winner in my eyes, so the addition of velvet is just an extra plus.
Tricky Ink has quite a few unique designs that I really love, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for their next sale.
