I like to be happy. I don’t think there are many people who don’t like being happy. Sometimes we’re not happy all the time, and we almost have to encourage our brains to think positive and cheer up by dwelling on the things that make our heart sing. I like the idea of being able to change our whole mind set just by thinking about a certain amount of things. Kinda cool. I do this from time to time, just to perk up my brain and lighten the mood, but today I’m dedicating a whole blogpost on a list full of things that brighten a day.
Here are 25 things that make me happy:
The fact that dogs are always happy to see you and get excited over absolutely nothing.
Spring vibes and tiny lambs jumping around an enormous field of grass.
Weekly dance parties with my sister around the house.
Walking around the park on a sunny afternoon with my friends.
When cats show any sort of attention.
Sitting on the moors and watching the colours of the sunset fill the sky.
Smiling at someone and receiving a smile back.
The village vibe that my area of Yorkshire has. Everybody knows everybody.
Our postman, Mark, who sings Moon River while delivering letters.
The primary school kids who cheer every time they get a wave from passing drivers.
Anything James Arthur sings. Ever.
Getting so lost in a book, time passes away.
Lazy mornings, being woken up by sunlight.
A plate full of plantain.
Making a fire Spotify playlist.
Writing everything I’m grateful for in a journal.
Using the Pacifica app.
Watching hilarious TV shows.
Singing throwback R&B songs with my mum in the car.
How the blue sky and green trees illuminate with sunshine.
